First Consultation Requirements
Please Bring:
- A list of your current medications.

Bioimpedance Body Composition Analysis
Bioimpedance body composition analysis is a non-invasive, advanced method to assess your body composition. It measures key metrics such as body fat percentage, visceral fat, muscle mass, hydration levels, and muscle protein. This detailed data helps track your progress and offers insights beyond standard weight measurements.
How to Prepare:
- Maintain normal hydration levels during the week prior to the examination (dehydration or overhydration may affect the results).
- Avoid intense physical activity for 12 hours before the examination.
- Avoid eating for at least 4 hours before the examination.
- Avoid drinking water for at least 4 hours before the examination.
- Avoid consuming coffee, smoking, and alcohol on the day of the examination.
- Empty your bladder 30 minutes before the examination.
- Remove any metallic accessories.
- Inform NT-CardioMetabolics if you have an implanted device (e.g., pacemaker).
- Inform NT-CardioMetabolics if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
RMR Calculation (Indirect Calorimetry)
Indirect calorimetry is the gold standard for measuring your resting metabolic rate (RMR). By analyzing oxygen consumption and carbon dioxide production, it provides precise data on your energy expenditure. Additionally, it reveals the proportion of energy derived from fat, protein, and carbohydrates, offering critical insights into your metabolic profile. This detailed information helps design tailored pharmaceutical and exercise plans that optimize fat loss and muscle gain by aligning nutrient intake with your body’s unique energy utilization patterns.
How to Prepare:
- Avoid eating for at least 8 hours before the examination.
- Avoid consuming coffee, smoking, and alcohol on the day of the examination.
- Avoid intense physical activity for 24 hours before the examination.
- Maintain a steady and normal breathing pattern during the measurement.
Ergospirometry Testing
Ergospirometry provides detailed insights into your cardiovascular fitness and exercise capacity.
How to Prepare:
- If you are on chronic cardiac medication (e.g., beta-blockers, calcium channel blockers), inform NT-CardioMetabolics in advance.
- Avoid heavy meals 4 hours before the examination.
- Wear comfortable clothing and sports shoes.
- Bring a towel and a bottle of water.
- Provide a medical clearance from a cardiologist for participation in physical activities (issued within the last year). Professional athletes may present their updated athlete card (issued within the last year).
